Stones and Hearts

2:74. Then, after that, your hearts were hardened and became like stones or even worse in hardness.

And indeed, there are stones out of which rivers gush forth,
and indeed, there are of them (stones)
which split asunder so that water flows from them,
and indeed, there are of them
which fall down for fear of Allah.

And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

Heart! How interesting it is! If it is well, then all the deeds, states, destinations are well; and if it is bad, everything is bad...As the hearts get worse, they get hardened and become like stones. They become insensitive. They get even worse than stones in hardness. For indeed, there are some stones from which rivers flow out.

It is very important for somebody to care continuously about protection of the purity of his heart. For if he cannot protect this purity, then the trustful and clean-hearted man of today can be transformed into the suspicious and tricky man of tomorrow. The oppressed of today can be the oppressor of tomorrow. Why not? I guess, the believer should use his intelligence and wisdom at this point. He shouldn't allow his goodwills to be consumed. He should foremost protect his heart.

May our Lord protect our hearts from getting hardened.
May our Lord make our hearts to be softened.
